Some projects are assignments. Others become personal statements.

Cuando Fuimos los Mejores represents the most ambitious creative undertaking of my career: an original documentary format conceived, developed and executed from the ground up with the objective of preserving the legacy of Spain's greatest sporting icons while exploring the human stories hidden behind their achievements.

The project was entirely created under my creative direction, from the first conceptual sketches to the final production strategy. I originated the editorial vision, designed the visual identity, defined the narrative structure, wrote and supervised the format development, planned the production model and established the complete transmedia ecosystem intended to expand the documentary beyond television into digital platforms, social media and complementary experiences.

Beyond my responsibilities as Executive Producer, Director and Filmmaker, I also led every stage of post-production, supervising offline editing, narrative construction, music integration, sound design, color grading, motion graphics and final mastering. Every graphic element, branding asset, presentation document and promotional design associated with the project was conceived and developed under my creative supervision, resulting in a fully unified visual language.

Rather than approaching the documentary as a collection of interviews, the editorial objective was to reconnect audiences with the emotional context surrounding historic sporting achievements and reveal the people behind the legends through intimate storytelling. Cuando Fuimos los Mejores was conceived as a multi-season documentary series capable of featuring some of Spain's most celebrated athletes while extending its narrative through digital content, interactive experiences and community engagement initiatives.
